Datamasker • Enlite

The Enlite Datamasking Tool helps organizations comply with AVG guidelines by pseudonymizing or anonymizing personal data, without loss of data integrity.

Testing with production data

You prefer to test software with data from your production environment. If this data contains personal data, it increases the chance of a data breach. Our data mask ensures that the data in your test environment is masked. This keeps the data fully functional for testing, but unusable in the hands of third parties.

What is the Datamasking tool?

By masking personal and critical business data, these data are not directly traceable to malicious parties and are therefore unusable. Moreover, you comply with current legislation regarding the masking of personal data. This masking can be done in two different ways. We talk about anonymization and pseudonymization, but what is actually the difference?

Pseudonymizing

Pseudonymization is a technique that replaces personal data with unique, non-reducible values (pseudonyms) to protect a person's identity. The original data remains stored somewhere and can be retraced via a special key.

Anonymize

Anonymization is a technique in which personal data irreversible be modified so that the original data are no longer traceable to an individual. This ensures that the data is completely disconnected from the person.

Benefits of Data Mask

✔ Ability to both pseudonymize and anonymize
✔ Masking is possible on (almost) any database type
✔ Underlying relationships persist
✔ Possibility of column-specific masking
✔ Created synonyms remain easily testable (think bank account numbers, for example)
✔ The mapping and implementation takes only one week on average per database type
✔ Turnkey solution to make personal data AVG compliant
